Rivers State recorded 55 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,814 with 5,065 discharged and 86 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 643 new cases. Oyo recorded the highest number with – Oyo-88, Lagos-86, Rivers-55, Edo-54, Akwa Ibom-53, Adamawa-52, Plateau-45, Kaduna-41, FCT-34, Kwara-27, Benue-20, Kano-19, Delta-18, Nasarawa-16, Niger-15, Bayelsa-11, Borno-5, Bauchi-2 and Sokoto-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 140,391 with 114,635 recovered patients, and 1,673 deaths.
The Commission has urged Nigerians to continue to wear masks to reduce the spread of the virus, as it does not only help in protecting the individual but those around them.
