Rivers State recorded 47 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 10,082 with 8,617 discharged and 125 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Friday.
In total Nigeria recorded 618 new cases. Lagos recorded the second highest number of cases with – 312, Akwa Ibom-89, Edo-71, Rivers-47, Ekiti-20, Plateau-20, Delta-15, Kwara-13, FCT-11, Osun-8, Oyo-4, Ogun-3, Benue-3, Gombe-1 and Kaduna-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 190,333 with 169,815 recovered patients, and 2,308 deaths.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State government has urged residents of the state yet to get vaccinated to do as it has no side effects.
