Rivers State recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 7,569 with 7,330 discharged and 102 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Wednesday.
In total Nigeria recorded 535 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 219, Akwa Ibom-142, Oyo-47, Rivers-17, Jigawa-13, Edo-13, Ekiti-11, Bayelsa-11, Ondo-10, Osun-9, Plateau-8, Ogun-7, Kaduna-7, Kano-5, FCT-5, Imo-4, Gombe-4 and Nasarawa-3.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 172,263 with 164,886 recovered patients, and 2,139 deaths.
Meanwhile, the agency says it has recorded 10 cases of the deadly Delta variant so far.
