Rivers State recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 7,616 with 7,352 discharged and 102 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Saturday.
In total Nigeria recorded 497 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 211, Akwa Ibom-80, Kwara-73, Osun-29, Oyo-17, Rivers-17, Cross River-15, Edo-14, Anambra-9, Ogun-8, Ekiti-6, Bayelsa-4, FCT-4, Plateau-4, Bauchi-2, Nasarawa-2, Kaduna-1 and Jigawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 173,908 with 164,994 recovered patients, and 2,149 deaths.
Meanwhile, the agency has warned Nigerians to obey all COVID-19 protocols, as it has recorded 10 cases of the deadly Delta variant.
