Rivers State recorded 16 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 7,976 with 7,477 discharged and 102 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Sunday.
In total Nigeria recorded 471 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 219, Akwa Ibom-102, Ondo-37, Oyo-33, Kwara-19, Rivers-16, Ekiti-15, Delta-14, Ogun-7, FCT-5, Niger-2, Edo-1 and Katsina-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 178,086 with 165,763 recovered patients, and 2,187 deaths.
Meanwhile, the agency has urged Nigerians to obey all covid-19 protocols as it has recorded new cases of the deadly Delta variant in five states.
