Rivers State recorded 11 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 6,778 with 6,452 discharged and 97 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 205 new Cases. Ondo recorded the highest number with – 33, Lagos-25, FCT-22, Bauchi-21, Akwa Ibom-15, Kaduna-14, Katsina-13, Ogun-13, Rivers-11, Edo-8, Ekiti-4, Imo-4, Kano-3, Nasarawa-2 and Niger-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 160,537 with 144,714 recovered patients, and 2,013 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has said that the Astrazeneca vaccine is safe and has no side effects.
