Rivers State recorded 52 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,688 with 4,878 discharged and 85 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,624 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – 535, Plateau-183, Osun-98, Akwa Ibom-85, FCT-83, Ondo-77, Nasarawa-72, Edo-69, Oyo-63, Rivers-52, Taraba-48, Ogun-44, Borno-31,Kwara-31, Ekiti-30, Benue-25, Kano-21, Niger-21, Kaduna-18, Abia-15, Delta-10, Bayelsa-7 and Zamfara-6.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 137,654 with 111,639 recovered patients, and 1,641 deaths.
The Commission has urged Nigerians to continue to wear masks to reduce the spread of the virus, as it does not only help in protecting the individual but those around them.
