Rivers State recorded 37 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 4,429 with, 3,655 discharged and 75 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,617 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – 776, Kaduna-147, Kwara-131, FCT-102, Plateau-78, Edo-59, Ogun-53, Osun-45, Rivers-37, Taraba-36, Nasarawa-34, Adamawa-33, Kano-26, Delta-20, Ebonyi-16, Bayelsa-11, Gombe-11 and Borno-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 112,004 with 89,939 recovered patients, and 1,449 deaths.
The NCDC, has said that as schools resume across the country, authorities must take responsibility to ensure;
Temperature checks at entry points.
Compulsory use of face mask.
Provision of hand-washing facilities.
Classrooms are well ventilated.
