Rivers State recorded 72 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 4,186 with, 3,504 discharged and 72 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,479 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – Lagos-697, FCT-201, Nasarawa-80, Plateau-74, Rivers-72, Edo-46, Adamawa-43, Osun-39, Akwa Ibom-35, Delta-31, Anambra-27, Oyo-24, Kano-21, Abia-19, Enugu-19, Ogun-18, Sokoto-12, Bauchi-7, Taraba-7, Ekiti-4, Gombe-4, Imo-4, Bayelsa-2, Jigawa-2, Zamfara-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 105,478 with 83,830 recovered patients, and 1,405 deaths.
The NCDC, has warned that not every #COVID19 infected individual shows symptoms. Everyone needs to maintain a HIGHER index of suspicion for COVID19 and adhere to all preventive measures:
Always wear a face mask, wash your hands regularly with soap under running water, cough/sneeze into your elbow.
