Rivers State recorded 117 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,636 with 4,837 discharged and 84 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,340 new cases. FCT recorded the highest number with – 320, Lagos-275, Rivers-117, Oyo-100, Akwa Ibom-57, Ogun-51, Ebonyi-48, Benue-44, Adamawa-42, Imo-38, Kwara-35, Gombe-32, Kaduna-31, Edo-29, Osun-29, Kano-24, Ekiti-15, Katsina-14, Delta-13, Nasarawa-13, Jigawa-10 and Sokoto-3.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 136,030 with 110,449 recovered patients, and 1,632 deaths.
The Commission has urged Nigerians to continue to wear masks to reduce the spread of the virus, as it does not only help in protecting the individual but those around them.
