Rivers State recorded 71 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 4,011 with, 3,445 discharged and 69 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,270 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – (435), FCT (234), Oyo (103), Plateau (86), Rivers (71), Enugu (51), Nasarawa (41), Delta (39), Edo (39), Osun (33), Niger (31), Sokoto (23), Ondo (16), Taraba (13), Ebonyi (12), Kano (10), Abia (9), Bayelsa ( 8 ), Bauchi (7), Imo (5), Katsina (3), Gombe (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 102,601, with 81,574 recovered patients, and 1,373 deaths.
The NCDC, has warned that not every #COVID19 infected individual shows symptoms. Everyone needs to maintain a HIGHER index of suspicion for COVID19 and adhere to all preventive measures:
Always wear a face mask, wash your hands regularly with soap under running water, cough/sneeze into your elbow.
