COVID-19: Nigeria Records 1,143 New Cases, Rivers 19

Rivers State recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,972 with 5,396 discharged and 88 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.

In total, Nigeria recorded 1,143 new Cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – Lagos-319, FCT-157, Kwara-90, Oyo-74, Enugu-72, Nasarawa-69, Imo-58, Osun-51, Gombe-49, Kaduna-31, Edo-23, Katsina-23, Kebbi-23, Ogun-22, Kano-19, Rivers-19, Ebonyi-18, Plateau-14, Delta-7 and Ekiti-5.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 145,664 with 120,399 recovered patients, and 1,747 deaths.

The commission has advised Nigerians to Remember to wash their hands at these critical times:

Before and after eating or preparing a meal.

Before wearing a face mask.

After using sanitary facilities.

After sneezing and coughing and upon arrival at work or back home.
