Rivers State recorded 31 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,206 with 4,436 discharged and 79 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1114new cases. Lagos state recorded the highest number with – 408, FCT-95, Plateau-90, Ondo-66, Kaduna-63, Oyo-56, Borno-46, Imo-42, Edo-41, Ogun-37, Rivers-31, Ekiti-25, Yobe-20, Kano-18, Akwa Ibom-18, Delta-15, Osun-15, Kwara-11, Bayelsa-6, Nasarawa-6, Zamfara-4 and Bauchi-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 128,674 with 102,780 recovered patients, and 1,577 deaths.
The Commission has said that COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization
