Rivers State recorded 143 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 9,365 with 8063 discharged and 109 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its official website on Saturday.
In total Nigeria recorded 1064 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – 776, Rivers-143, Ekiti-49, Kwara-33, Ogun-21, Benue-18, Oyo-13, FCT-5, Osun-4 and Yobe-2.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 186,635 with 168,320 recovered patients, and 2,260 deaths.
The NCDC, has said that one of the reasons for the spike in cases is due to none adherence to Covid-19 protocols by some Nigerians.
