Rivers State recorded 47 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 5,861 with 5,162 discharged and 86 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1,056 new Cases. Lagos recorded the highest number with – 214, Osun-120, FCT-116, Plateau-88, Ebonyi-75, Kwara-73, Gombe-70, Ondo-57, Rivers-47, Akwa Ibom-38, Edo-25, Oyo-23, Kano-22, Delta-19, Katsina-18, Borno-16, Nasarawa-13, Ekiti-8, Ogun-8, Bauchi-4, Benue-1 and Jigawa-1.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 141,447 with 115,755 recovered patients, and 1,694 deaths.
The Commission has urged Nigerians to continue to wear masks to reduce the spread of the virus, as it does not only help in protecting the individual but those around them.
