Rivers State recorded 16 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 3,475 with, 3,180 discharged and 64 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19 in the country.
In total, Nigeria recorded 1031 new cases. Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with – (570), FCT (117), Kaduna (109), Nasarawa (34), Bauchi (31), Kano (28), Plateau (26), Sokoto (26), Ogun (25), Edo (18), Rivers (16), Abia (10), Imo (7), Taraba (6), Delta (4) and Osun (4).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 87,510 with 73,713 recovered patients, and 1,289 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned that there will likely be an increase in the number of cases in January, due to the disobedience of COVID-19, protocols by a large number of persons.
