The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, has launched the National Social & Behavioural Change (SBC), Campaign’ with the tagline: “The Power to Stop COVID-19 is in Our Hands.”

Chairman of the NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu disclosed this in a post on the commission’s official Twitter handle on Wednesday.

He said the campaign aims to energise our collective action to prevent further spread of the deadly COVID-19, which has claimed more than two thousand lives in the country.

Ihekweazu stated that the campaign is a call to action for a whole-of-society approach to achieve a healthier & safer Nigeria.

He also said: “in pandemic preparedness and response, social & behaviour change (SBC) reduces morbidity & mortality by preventing further transmission of diseases.

The Commission, which is saddled with the responsibility of controlling and preventing communicable diseases in the country is doing everything it could to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
