The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control ( NCDC) has stated that the drop in COVID-19 cases does not signal the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director General of NCDC disclosed this yesterday at a media briefing.
He said, “In the absence of a vaccine, the world is at risk of continuous transmission. For now , we have to depend on a combination of public health and social measures that do not provide 100 per cent effectiveness…”
He noted that the low death rate recorded in the country is simply because majority of confirmed cases are between the ages of 31 and 40.
