BUA Group, one of Africa’s largest conglomerates, says it has purchased one million doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines for Nigeria.
The company, made this known in a statement on Monday.
It said the vaccines which would be distributed to Nigerians at no cost, is expected in the country next Monday.
“We expect the vaccines to be delivered within the next 14 days and hope priority will be given to our frontline workers who have committed their lives to managing the pandemic,” the statement said.
Founder of BUA Group, Abdul Rabui in a statement, thanked Dr. Benedict Oramah, President of the Afremix bank and the CBN for making the purchase possible.
He said the group will also purchase another 5 million doses as they become available
“In addition to this, BUA is committing to purchase five million doses for Nigeria as soon as they become available through this same arrangement,” he said.
