The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), says 765 prospective Corp members out of 22,119 tested in the current stream, using the new antigen-based rapid test kits (RDTs), have tested positive for COVID-19.

Director-General of the commission, Chikwe Ihekweazu disclosed this at the media briefing of the PTF on COVID-19.

“Out of 22,119 prospective corp members tested in orientation camps in the current stream, 765 have tested positive for #COVID19 using the new antigen-based rapid test kits (RDTs) in Nigeria,” he said.

He called on residents to protect themselves from the virus, stating that the government is doing everything within its power, to curb its spread.

Meanwhile some stakeholders have called on the government not to shutdown orientation camps, but ensure strict compliance with all guidelines on COVID-19.
