The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, says 45 cases of the Omicron covid-19 variant have been detected in the country.
The commission, made this known during a virtual interaction session with journalists in Abuja on Friday.
The NCDC, added that it is doing everything within its powers to curb the spread of the pandemic.
It called on security agencies to work with religious bodies and other organizations to enforce the covid safety protocol.
It also advised Nigerians to observe all safety protocols and take the covid vaccines as they are safe and reliable.
The commission, advised fully vaccinated persons to make themselves available for the booster covid-19 vaccine.
