PORT HARCOURT — The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has issued an interim order restraining the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), from appointing sole administrators or their equivalents for the state’s 23 local government areas.
Justice Adamu Turaki Mohammed granted the order in response to Suit No. FHC/PH/CS/46/2025, filed by the PILEX Centre for Civic Education Initiative, led by Courage Msirimovu. The motion ex parte, filed on March 28, 2025, sought to prevent the administrator and his agents from making such appointments.
After reviewing the application, Justice Mohammed ruled in favor of the applicant and scheduled April 14, 2025, for the hearing of the substantive case.
