A state High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has restrained the All Progressives Congress from conducting Ward, LG and State Congresses in Rivers State.
The suit was filed by Ndudi Chukwuma and Peter Onochukwu who represented themselves. The defendants in the suit include, INEC, the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force.
The presiding judge, Godwin Onoh in his ruling also restrained the defendants from supervising any election to elect new executives of the party in the State.
He later adjourned the mater to September 9, for further hearing.
The All Progressives Congress had announced Oct. 11, 16 and 26 as dates for the congresses.
