The Chief Magistrate of a Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt has remanded 10 Carverton Helicopters’ passengers. This is in response to their contravention of state’s orders put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19. The state government had previously closed its air, land and sea entry points as measures to check the spread of Coronavirus.
The defendants who pleaded not guilty to the charges were held in order for their Coronavirus status to be determined.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Governor Wike on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, has accused Nigeria Info of serving as a medium for the spread of falsehood.
He said Ajuri Ngalale, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President who entered the state through the back door, lied to the people of the state through Nigeria Info.
Ngalale had earlier blasted Wike for saying the fight against the COVID-19 is being politicised by the federal government
Nwakaudu described Nigerian Info as the epicenter of anti-Rivers reportage as they always criticise every move by the government.
He also accused the federal government of not instituting any project in Rivers State since 2015.
Furthermore, Nwakaudu challenged Ngalale, to discuss the actual measures taken by the federal government to fight the coronavirus.
