The National Industrial Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has ordered the Rivers State Government to reinstate 217 staff of the Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, it unlawfully sacked seven years ago.
Justice Polycap Aman, in his ruling said the government did not follow due process in sacking the workers.
Governor Nyesom Wike, had in his first tenure sacked 435 staff of the institution who were recruited by the previous administration.
Some of the affected workers had dragged the state government to court to seek redress.
The state government is yet to react to the court ruling.
Meanwhile, stakeholders have urged the state government to obey the ruling of the court, and not appeal the judgement.
