The Federal High Court sitting in Warri has ordered the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector-General of Police to maintain the status quo in the ongoing dispute over the controversial tinted glass permit.
The directive followed Friday’s hearing in Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025, filed by John Aikpokpo-Martins against the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force.
Delivering the interim order, the court instructed the police to respect judicial processes and avoid any actions that could undermine the case until further proceedings are concluded.
Speaking on the development, lead counsel Kunle Edun, SAN, described the ruling as a significant step in safeguarding the rule of law while the substantive issues remain before the court.
Details of the decision and the next adjourned date are expected to be announced soon.
