A Federal High Court in Lagos, presided over by Justice Yellim Bogoro, has ordered the final forfeiture of $4.7 million, N830 million, and multiple properties linked to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
The ruling followed a motion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which argued that the assets were proceeds of unlawful activities. The funds were traced to accounts in First Bank, Titan Bank, and Zenith Bank, operated by individuals and companies allegedly connected to Emefiele.
Among the forfeited properties are 94 units of 11-story buildings in Ikoyi, Lagos, office spaces in Lekki, and land holdings in Lagos and Texas, USA. The court also seized €20,000, £1,999.50, and additional investments worth millions in banks.
