A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has sentenced Chinedu Ukpai Kalu to 12 months in prison or a N200,000 fine for internet fraud.
Kalu was convicted for impersonation and advance fee fraud after defrauding a UK citizen of £1,200 by posing as a miner. He pleaded guilty, leading to his conviction by Justice P. I. Ajoku.
The court also ordered the forfeiture of his seized assets, including phones and funds recovered during the investigation. Kalu was arrested in a sting operation after intelligence linked him to online scams.
