Abuja – The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an order restricting Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and others from making media statements regarding an ongoing legal dispute.
Justice Binta Nyako, who recently took over the case, imposed the restriction on Friday during a hearing on Akpoti-Uduaghan’s lawsuit, which seeks to halt a Senate investigation against her.
“There should be no press interview by all parties and counsel as regard the subject matter of this case; no streaming or social media post as regard this case,” Justice Nyako ruled.
“There should be no TV interviews as regard this. There should be total media blockage,” she added.
The order follows the reassignment of the case to Justice Nyako by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, on Thursday.
