Director-General of the Presidential campaign council of the People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation, Hon. Abiye Sekibo has called on Governor, Nyesom Wike to retract the “false allegation” against him.
Sekibo who made this known through his solicitors, Resilience Juris Chambers said no contract was awarded to him, as he is not a contractor.
He said the governor only asked him to recommend a competent contractor that could execute some projects in Okrika his hometown and he recommended Gascon Limited.
Sekibo, stated that he is not a director in Gascon, neither is he a shareholder in the company.
He revealed that Gascon immediately mobilized to site and had successfully achieved 100 percent, 80 and 65 percent completion of the projects respectively to the knowledge of the state government.
He directed Gov. Wike to tender an unreserved apology to him on a National newspaper.
Gov. Wike had in a statement said contracts worth billions of naira were awarded to Sekibo and asked the state to forgive him for making such a mistake.
