The Rivers State Police Command says it has deployed 366 mobile police officers to various communities in the state. This is, in a bid to ensure effective community policing.

The state commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan disclosed this in a statement at the force headquarters in Port Harcourt, yesterday.

He said the act was in line with the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu’s directive that is geared towards improving community policing in the country.

Mukan, who charged the officers to be good ambassadors of the force, warned them against any form of human rights abuses.

He stated that the responsibility of the officers, is to ensure the protection of lives and properties in their various places of assignments.

He, urged them to effectively work with residents, so as to bring to book, criminal elements in the various communities.
