Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Broda Shaggi, whose real name is Samuel Perry, has reportedly been hospitalised after allegedly suffering a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in Sango-Ota.
According to reports, the incident happened on Sunday afternoon beneath the Sango-Ota bridge while the entertainer was recording a skit alongside members of his production crew.
Sources disclosed that the comedian sustained an injury during the filming process, though the exact details surrounding the shooting remain uncertain.
He was quickly taken to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area, where he received initial medical treatment, and later transferred to Duchess Hospital for further care and is reportedly recovering.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that authorities were alerted by the hospital after a gunshot victim was brought in. Responding officers reportedly found the comedian lying on a stretcher with a wound to his thigh.
Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin explained that the incident actually took place in Sango-Ota, which is within the jurisdiction of the Ogun State Police Command.
However, the Ogun police said the case had not yet been formally reported to the command as of the time this report was filed.
The news has stirred concern among fans, many of whom have taken to social media to send prayers and well wishes for the comedian’s quick recovery.
