The APC in Rivers State has vowed to work assiduously with the 27 pro-Wike lawmakers who defected to the party to ensure that the APC is positioned to take over governance of the state come 2027.
Acting chairman of the party, Tony Okocha disclosed this in a statement on Monday, while congratulating the lawmakers for joining its fold.
He commended the lawmakers for identifying with the APC and assured them of the full cooperation of the State Working Committee (Caretaker) of the party in the state.
He stated that their defection to the APC will assist in strengthening the bond between the State and the Center in the actualization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
Okocha also reiterated his initial call on the immediate past Governor of Rivers State and FCT Minister – Barr. Nyesom Wike to come to Rivers State APC and lead the party.
