Popular socialite and businessman, Mr. Maduba Okechi Christian, popularly known as Ceemore Global, has denied involvement in an alleged violent assault on three young women at Blackbox Nightclub, Port Harcourt, on June 12, 2024.
The victims — Thonia Okoye, Juliet Obasi, and Jennifer Nnochiri — reportedly reserved a ₦200,000 table to celebrate a birthday before the night turned chaotic. Eyewitnesses claim the women were attacked by Ceemore, his associates, and a mobile police officer allegedly assigned to him.
The altercation allegedly began when Ceemore approached the women and offered them money, which they declined. Tensions escalated when the women refused to stop filming themselves, reportedly prompting a violent response.
According to multiple witnesses, the three women were beaten with glass bottles, stripped, and publicly humiliated. They reportedly sustained serious injuries, including deep cuts, head trauma, and the loss of a tooth. Their belongings — phones, cash, and jewelry — were allegedly stolen during the attack.
In a viral video obtained by Elanhub Media showing the parties before police authorities, Ceemore denied any physical involvement, stating, “I didn’t touch any of them.” However, one of the victims accused him directly, claiming he was the one who smashed a bottle on her head. The women appeared visibly injured in the footage, with bandages covering parts of their bodies.
The case has since sparked widespread public outrage, with social media activist VeryDarkMan calling for a full investigation and justice for the victims.
Police are yet to release an official statement on the progress of the investigation.
