Civil society groups under the umbrella of the Rivers Civil Society Organisations (RIVCSO), alongside family and friends of kidnapped teenager Favour Oluwaseyi, staged a protest at the Rivers State Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, demanding her immediate and unconditional release.
The demonstration, saw children and activists gather at the police gate to draw attention to the ongoing abduction. Protesters accused law enforcement of inaction and called for accountability within the force.
RIVCSO specifically urged the Commissioner of Police to investigate and prosecute CSP Alex, Commander of the Special Operations and Investigation Team (SOIT), alleging his complicity in the case. The group insisted that all necessary information regarding Favour’s abduction had already been provided to authorities.
“Victory is near,” one placard read, as demonstrators vowed to continue pressing for justice and the safe return of the missing girl.
