Professor Christopher Goson Piwuna of the University of Jos has been elected as the new President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
His election was confirmed during the 23rd National Delegates Congress of the union, held at the University of Benin, Edo State.
Piwuna, who is from Plateau State, defeated Professor Adamu Babayo of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, to succeed outgoing president Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, who has led ASUU since 2021.
