Chairman of Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Micheal Williams, says Governor Nyesom Wike, has directed the state Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities to respond to the health crises in the area.
There have been reports of cholera outbreak and other water borne diseases in the LGA.
Williams, disclosed this when he visited the Amanyanabo of Bille Kingdom, HRH King Igbikingeri Ngowari Cornelius Herbert, in his palace.
He revealed that he had led a team of medical personnel to access the situation.
The council Boss, during the meeting, requested for the true situation of the outbreak, to enable the council address the menace immediately.
He noted that his administration would give the necessary support to health workers to avoid a recurrence.
Williams, furthermore, commended the state government for its timely response to the health crises.
