The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) says 7,663 suspected cases of cholera and 216 fatalities have been reported nationwide, since the start of 2024,
The commission made this known in its week 36 cholera epidemiological report on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the report, “216 deaths with a case fatality rate (CFR) of 2.8 percent from 7,663 suspected cases have been reported cumulatively from week one to week 36, 2024.”
“With a case fatality rate of 0.7 percent, there were 141 suspected cases, one death, and one week 36. These were recorded in 19 LGAs in the states of Katsina, Lagos, Kano, Jigawa, and Adamawa.
