-As Ohna Sergeant Awuse Pledges Support For The Free Medical Mission
Ahead of the 5-day free medical outreach billed to hold in Emohua local government area from Monday, October 9, 2023 as organized by the Ogbakor Ikwerre USA/Canada Incorporated in partnership with Emohua local government, the medical team of the organizing group on Sunday arrived Emohua local government area for an on the spot assessment of facilities at the local government primary healthcare centre, venue of the outreach.
The team comprising medical practitioners of Ikwerre extraction based in the United States of America (USA) and Canada was received at the Emohua local government council headquarters by the council chairman, Dr. Chidi Lloyd , who conducted the team round the facilities in the local government primary healthcare centre.
The council chairman while appreciating the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre USA/Canada Inc. for their humanitarian services to the people of Ikwerre ethnic nationality back home in Nigeria, also thanked the group for the choice of Emohua local government area for their 2023 free medical outreach.
The council chairman said the local government council under his leadership was very much prepared and had put the necessary measures in place to ensure a hitch free exercise which is expected to last for five days.
Dr. Lloyd who later led the team on a courtesy visit to the palace of the paramount ruler of Emohua Kingdom and chairman of Rivers State traditional rulers council, HRM Sir Ohna Sergent Awuse , disclosed that the local government had already worked out modalities for the transportation of residents of the area who are seeking medical examination and solution to the venue of the free medical outreach.
He also noted that the local government had already embarked on traditional publicity to notify and invite residents of the area to the free medical outreach.
Ohna Sergeant Awuse while appreciating the team for their choice of Emohua local government area for the 2023 edition of their annual medical/surgical mission, promised to provide the necessary support to ensure the success of the exercise.
The respected traditional ruler who later treated the team to a dinner, also promised to visit the venue of the free medical outreach to encourage the team before the end of the five days exercise.
He commended Dr. Lloyd for his efforts in ensuring that the necessary logistics were put in place for the smooth take off of the exercise.
Speaking further, the royal majesty enjoined professionals of Ikwerre extraction in all walks of life based in foreign countries to consider visiting their home regularly and contribute to the development of their fatherland, stressing that the essence of western education and training was to acquire modern education and skills for the development of one’s locality.
The 5-day free medical outreach is expected to feature general diagnosis and treatment, including surgeries and professional medical consultations.
Dr. Lloyd was accompanied by his wife, Lady Divine Adanma Chidi-Lloyd and principal officers of Emohua local government.
