The Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual LGA, Hon. Vincent Reuben Obu, has approved a free transportation service for the people of Abua/Odual LGA.
Obu, made this announcement during a meeting with the staff of the Abolga Mass Transit.
He assured the people of Abua/Odual that no passenger traveling to and fro Port Harcourt will need to pay anything from Tuesday, Oct. 22, to Saturday, Oct 26.
Hon. Vincent stated that the transportation company is now mandated to implement this free transportation scheme, noting that the buses will be decentralized.
He said: “You have been commissioned to deliver a free transportation scheme, one of my campaign promises to the people of Abua Odual. The buses are decentralized.
“Some buses will service the Odual axis, others the Otabha-Okpeden axis, and others the Emughan axis, while the remaining buses will be stationed in Central Abua.”
Hon. Vincent urged all residents of Abua/Odual to take advantage of this opportunity. He also emphasized that this initiative aligns with the efforts of the Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, who has been providing free bus services for the people of Rivers State.
“I urge all sons and daughters of Abua/Odual to take advantage of this opportunity. This initiative complies with the Rivers State governor’s efforts, who has provided free buses for civil servants and non-civil servants. I am replicating this, in fulfillment of my campaign promise,” he added
