As the world celebrates World Health Day 2024, Rivers State First Lady, Her Excellency, Lady Valerie Fubara has said that the special day provides an opportunity for acknowledging the tremendous work that has been accomplished in the mission to promote good health and well-being for all. “With the theme ‘My Health, My Right,’ we firmly believe that every individual, regardless of their background or circumstance, deserves the right to enjoy good health and life as a fundamental human right.
Let us reaffirm our commitment to promoting the right to good health, not only within our local communities but also on a global scale. We must continue to advocate for policies that prioritize health equity, challenge systemic barriers, and ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all, regardless of their circumstance.
It is heartwarming to know that the Governor takes the health sector to heart and will continue to do more in that sector in order to cater for the health needs of Rivers people, already he has put his best foot forward in this regard.
I am filled with hope for what lies ahead. Together, we have the power to create lasting change – a future where every person’s right to good health is respected, protected, and fulfilled.”
Lady Fubara further commended Rivers people for their unwavering support and for championing the cause of good health for all. “Let us continue to work together to leave an indelible mark on the health and well-being of individuals and communities worldwide.”
World Health day, a creation of the World Health Organization, came into force on 7th April 1948 – a date we now celebrate every year as World Health Day.
Happy World Health Day 2024!
