The Central Bank of Nigeria has commenced a cash swap through PoS operators in Rivers State.
Maxwell Okafor, branch controller of the CBN in Port Harcourt, disclosed this during the cash swap at Rumukwurusi in Obio Akpor local government area at the weekend.
According to him, the exercise was targeted at those who do not have bank accounts to enable them change their old currencies.
He said the Port Harcourt branch of the CBN would sustain the drive across the 23 local governments of the state in order to serve everyone.
The ten days extension now gives Nigerians an opportunity to swap their old naira notes for new ones.
