A car thief in his twenties was yesterday, caught and beaten to a pulp while trying to steal someone’s car at the Garrison axis of Port Harcourt Rivers.
The security man in charge of the church where the car was parked in a chat with us said he saw the man opened the car with a master’s key after the owner of the vehicle parked and gave him a token to help him watch over it.
He said immediately the man opened the car, he confronted him and raised an alarm despite claims by the car thief that the car was his.
He disclosed that a large crowd gathered and he explained everything to them, before the owner of the vehicle appeared.
The security man said the owner was speechless as the car thief was severely beaten and stripped of his clothes before he was handed over to the police.
He called on security operatives to increase patrol around the Garrison axis as crime and criminality are on the rise.
