QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Senior Lecturers – CONPCASS 07 (CONTEDISS 13)
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Possess Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees (BSc; B.A; B.Eng; or B.Tech plus MSc; M.A; M.Eng; or M.Tech and Ph.D) in their relevant core discipline
At least 9 years Teaching/Research or industrial work experience in a recognized higher institution of learning or industry
Have at least five articles published in reputable journals in the relevant area of study, and six conference papers,
Membership of relevant professional body is mandatory.
Possess Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees (BSc; B.A; B.Eng; or B.Tech and MSc; M.A; M.Eng; or M.Tech) in their relevant core discipline
At least 12 years teaching/research or industrial work experience in a recognized higher institution of learning
Have at least three journal articles or contribution of two chapters in standard text book(s) and three conference papers,
Membership of relevant professional body is mandatory.
Assistant Lecturers – CONPCASS 02 (CONTEDISS 8)
Candidates must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in their relevant discipline plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals will be an added advantage. Membership of relevant professional body is mandatory.
Instructors – CONPCASS 02 (CONTEDISS 8)
Candidates must possess Higher National Diploma (HND with Distinction or Upper Credit) in the relevant discipline from a recognized Polytechnic with NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and proven evidence of outstanding contributions to technical/vocational education.
Chief Security Officer
The right candidate must possess any of the following:
Possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminology, Psychology or any other relevant discipline with NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
An ex – Police Officer not below the rank of Deputy Supritendent of Police, DSP or its equivalent in any of the security forces, or
Evidence of at least 20 years of related work experience
Workshop/Laboratory Technologist 11 – CONPCASS 2 (CONTEDISS 8)
Candidates must possess Higher National Diploma at credit level in the relevant discipline plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
Workshop/Laboratory Technician – CONTEDISS 6
Candidates must possess National Diploma or Technical Certificate at credit level in relevant field.
Confidential Secretary 11 – CONTEDISS 08
Candidates must possess a Higher National Diploma in Office Technology and Management or Secretarial studies at credit level.
Confidential Secretary 111 – CONTEDISS 06
Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Office Technology and Management or Secretarial studies at credit level.
Nursing Officer/Staff Nurse/Midwife – (CONHESS 08/07)
Candidates must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) or staff Nurse/Midwife with Nigerian registered Nurse (Nigerian Registered Midwife) (NRM) certificate.
Medical Laboratory Technician – CONTEDISS 06
Candidates must possess a National Diploma/National Technical Certificate at credit level in Medical Laboratory Science.
Architectural Draftsmen – CONTEDISS 06
Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Architectural Technology

Candidates for each of the skills listed in (10) – (18) above, must have FSLC, Secondary or Junior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent plus Government Trade Test 111 in the relevant craft.
Conditions of Service
All successful candidates will be placed on probation for two (2) years continuous service on assumption of duties to the retiring age of 65 years. Persons above 50 year of age need not apply. Other conditions of service are similar to those obtainable in Polytechnics in Nigeria regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Rivers State Public Service.
