Rivers state has been listed amongst thirteen states to be affected by flood by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA.
NEMA made this known following a notification from the Foreign Affairs Ministry that Cameroon plans to open the Lagdo Dam.
It also warned that Kainji, Shiroro and Jebba dams could overflow between now and the end of October 2023.
States on the banks of River Benue include: Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Niger, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Kogi, Edo, Delta, Anambra, Cross River, Rivers and Bayelsa.
