The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially overturned the result of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, declaring Morocco as champions after ruling that Senegal forfeited the match.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the CAF confirmed that its Appeal Board had reached a decision in line with Article 84 of the AFCON regulations.
According to the statement, the Senegal national team has been deemed to have forfeited the final match, resulting in a 3–0 victory awarded to Morocco and the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF).
The decision effectively strips Senegal of the title, with Morocco now recognised as the official winners of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON Morocco 2025 tournament.
CAF has yet to provide further details surrounding the circumstances that led to the forfeiture.
