The leadership of Bunu-Tai community has strongly criticized the Rivers State Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, for his silence following a recent airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force that impacted their area.
Kingsley Kabaari, Chairman of the Bunu-Tai Community Development Committee (CDC), described Ibas’ lack of public response as a troubling sign of official neglect. He expressed particular disappointment over the administrator’s visit to Songhai Farm, which occurred without any outreach to victims or families affected by the airstrike.
Kabaari stated that the community felt deeply hurt by the perceived indifference and announced that Bunu-Tai residents will join concerned Ogoni groups in a solidarity walk to the Rivers State Government House this Friday. The protest aims to demand accountability, justice, and compensation for families affected by the military operation.
