Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration was “100 times better” than the current government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Saturday during an X Space discussion titled Weekend Politics, Amaechi criticised the prevailing economic hardship, citing soaring power costs and fuel expenses.

“Buhari’s government is 100 times better than Tinubu’s government. For Christ’s sake, were you dying of hunger? What we pay here is N1 million every week for power—N4 million in a month. How many people can afford that? Then you have to buy diesel of about N300,000 aside from feeding and staff salary,” he said.

He argued that Nigerians fared better under Buhari, adding: “It was not like that when Buhari was in power. Why are we comparing diamond to gold? In fact, this government is not even gold at all.”
