BUA Group has officially commenced production of Plaster of Paris (POP) gypsum plaster boards at its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Port Harcourt, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s industrial growth.
The facility, operated under BUA Gypsum Plaster Ltd, boasts a daily production capacity of 2,400 tonnes, making it the largest of its kind in the country.
The development is expected to reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported plaster boards, which have historically dominated the local market.
According to Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group, the commencement of production aligns with the company’s vision to improve the value chain and enhance capacity across its various industries.
“This move underscores BUA Group’s commitment to strengthening domestic production and supporting Nigeria’s industrial growth,” Rabiu said.
He added that the facility is expected to serve the housing and construction sectors while contributing to the country’s broader economic development.
The investment in this modern plant reflects BUA Group’s ongoing efforts to supply high-quality building materials to the domestic market and reinforce local manufacturing capabilities
