The University of Port Harcourt has announced a two-week postponement of the resumption date for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a statement signed by Dr Sam Kpenu, Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations, the decision was taken during a meeting of the Committee of Provosts and Deans held on Friday, October 31, 2025.
The previously scheduled resumption date of Monday, November 3, 2025, has been revised to Monday, November 17, 2025.
The University explained that the change was necessary to facilitate seamless completion of the ongoing admission process and ensure adequate preparation for the new academic year.
Management expressed regret over any inconvenience the adjustment may cause, noting that the decision was made in the best interest of students, parents, and staff.
The institution also appreciated the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders as it continues to uphold academic excellence and effective service delivery.
